Q: What is Hard Core Logo?
A: Hard Core Logo is, primarily, a 1996 movie about a 1995 tour by a Canadian punk band. It's a mockumentary, a fictional film about a documentary crew following a fictional band. Both real and fictional punk musicians (and Joey Ramone) feature throughout.
Hard Core Logo is also a book, which the movie was based on. The book presents a very different version (vision?) of punk - one with the political content intact. I found it very interesting.
Hard Core Logo is also a clutch of sequels, a graphic novel, a stage show and a tribute CD and I think there was a radio play too. Although I don't know very much about any of that.
I watched Hard Core Logo because I was getting interested in C6D fandom. Also, I like punk music and am kind of obsessive about old punk music in particular. As such, I enjoyed this film, and I also enjoyed complaining about the things I thought they didn't get right.
This mini-site is my outlet for complaining and commenting about it and the fandom that's grown up around it.
